I have a gallon of interior Eventone stain that I bought several years ago and I need a new gallon. Where can I get more?
21 March 2009 - Springfiel, IL

Dr. Joe's Reply   The Eventone brand of stains is manufactured by the Davis Paint Co. in Kansas City, MO. Their web site, www.davispaint.com, contains a list of their authorized dealers, where you should be able to obtain another gallon of the stain.

I want to paint some of the interior in my car, such as the plastics. Do I need to sand the the plastic down and then paint it and put clear coat on it??
19 March 2009 - lynchburg VA

Dr. Joe's Reply   Assuming these are hard plastic surfaces, there is no need to sand the plastic, just thoroughly clean and rinse off all soap residue. You will then need to spray on an adhesion promoter (available in spray cans), and the color coat of your choice. A wide selection of colors is available in spray cans, and we can also custom mix virtually any color for you. There is also a clear coat available in spray cans for this purpose, however, most people do not bother to use it, as the color coat itself is already a semi-gloss finish.

i bought some paint from James T Davis Saturday, and I dont know what the name of the color is, how do I find out? I still have the reciept, do I need any information off that, please let me know, thanks.
3 February 2009 - madison heights, va

Dr. Joe's Reply   On your receipt, and also on the label of the paint can, will be a color number. You can call or visit the store with that number, and the sales clerk will be able to look up the name for you.

I am getting ready to add on to our house a sunporch and a concrete area where we will have a hot tub. What would you suggest? Colored concrete, stained, or just textured?
16 November 2008 - exterior concrete pad

Dr. Joe's Reply   Colored concrete will give the most durable, long lasting surface.
