Do You carry Formby Refinishing Products?
10 March 2008
Dr. Joe's Reply
The only Formby's product that we carry is Formby's Lemon Oil Treatment for wood.

HI,
I am restoring an old home here in Lynchburg. I would like to strip the beautifully detailed/carved window casings, door facings and several mantels.
Do you know where I can take these pieces to have dipped locally? I have a lot of wood that need to be stripped.
Thanks for your help.
Have a great day.

Unfortunately, we don't know of anyone in the Lynchburg area who still has the ability to dip pieces of wood or furniture in order to strip old paint. You may be able to find someone in the Roanoke area.

I need to paint over a rusted (now clean) a/c overflow pan. I was going to use Rusty Metal Primer until I saw it was not for under water. Sometimes the condensate water stands 1/4" deep for a few days until the fan drys it out. Any ideas on what I can use to cover and stop the rust - this is an old unit ?

Dr. Joe's Reply
It will take a two part epoxy to hold up under this type of water immersion. Since the area to be painted is small, we would suggest Klenk's Tub, Tile, and Sink epoxy paint, which is available in a one quart kit at our Lynchburg store.
