At James T. Davis, we have complete lines of interior and exterior paints, as well as stains, specialty paints and primers. But, did you know that we can also match paint to fit any existing paint or stain surface?
Our process for matching paint or stain is simple, but thorough. We run the desired color or stain through our color match scanner. While our color matching technology is precise, we take it another step further and finalize the process by eye. We finish the color matching process this way so as to negate any computer error that may occur—giving you a finished product that you can feel confident in.
If you have a paint or stain you wish to match, here are a few ways to prepare for that process:
How to get a paint match
Our paint matching process typically takes 10 to 20 minutes in-store. To begin, simply bring in a sample of the paint (whether it’s a swatch, on a piece of wood, etc.) you wish to match. We will need a sample the size of a quarter or larger to get a proper match.
While you’re waiting for one of our specialists to finish matching the paint, feel free to check out our retail space! Our retail space has everything you need to complete your home with style. From Magnolia Home furniture and accessories, to wallpaper, fabrics and local art, we guarantee you’ll find something to round out the aesthetic of your space.
Need help figuring out what’s right for your home? We have you covered there, too. There is always an interior designer on-site to help customers plan the space of their dreams.
How to get a stain match
Stain matches are a bit more involved than paint matches. For stain, we recommend leaving the the sample you wish to match with us for at least a day. Because every stain looks different depending on the wood and grain involved, we work to make sure you’re getting exactly what you’re looking for.
However, the process is similar to paint matching. We will utilize our color matching technology to get the stain 99 percent accurate, and will continue matching by eye for the final percentage.
Once your stain is complete, we will give you a call to let you know that it is ready.
